GENNIE GILLIS

Gennie Gillis, 81, of Gainesville, MO passed to heaven on April 8, 2012 in Catawissa, MO with her family by her side. She was born on August 8, 1930 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Everett and Annabelle (Hale) Gillis.

Gennie grew up in St. Louis and moved to Gainesville later in life to be with her sister LaVerne and her family. Gennie was very active in the local Gainesville community including St. Williams Catholic Church and the Ozark County Ministerial Alliance. Gennie loved animals, feeding the hummingbirds and tending to her beautiful plants. Gennie’s local network of friends and family has proven to be amazing and God sent. She will be missed by many. Gennie would say, “It’s not goodbye….It’s I’ll see you later.”

Gennie is survived by sons Phil Reise and wife Angie, Brian Keence and wife Kathleen; nieces Christine Pullins and Genevieve Michel; nephew William Lowe; great nieces Justine Baker, Bethany Lancaster, Caitlin Shepard and Monica Flores; and great nephew Jason Pullins.

She was preceded in death by her parents Everett and Annabelle Gillis; sisters Mary Lowe and LaVerne Amann; brother William Gillis; and niece Debbie Smalley.

Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in the St. Williams Catholic Church, Gainesville, MO with Father Paul Wightman officiating. A Visitation Wake will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville. On line condolences may be made at www.clinkingbeardfuneralhome.com.
