Richard Allen Coy Strafford, MO

Richard Allen Coy, 57 years, passed to heaven on May 1, 2012 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, MO resulting from an accident.

Richard was born October 30, 1954 in Douglas County, MO to Everett "Pete" and Lue Ellen (Pruiett) Coy.

Richard was a resident of Strafford since 1997 moving from Coldwater, Mississippi. On May 26, 1979 Richard and Renee Lakey were united in marriage in the Shiloh Church in Ava, MO.

Richard was a Master Electrician for BNSF Railroad in Springfield, MO since 1990. He was a member of the IBEW.

He was Christian and had been Baptized. Richard and Renee had been attending The Assembly of God Church in Strafford. He enjoyed fishing, boating, scuba diving and riding his motorcycle. As a young man, he loved playing and singing music with his family, The Coy Family Gospel Band.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Everett "Pete" Coy and grandparents, Ebb and Cordie Pruiett.

Richard is survived by his wife, Renee Coy, Strafford, MO, his mother, Lue Ellen Coy, Ava, MO, one brother, Dennis Wayne Coy, Scranton, AR, two sisters, Venita Brummett, Ava, MO and Anita Hamilton, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Richard will be Friday, May 4, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Fairview Cemetery on U Highway, Mansfield, MO. Officiating will be Rev. Raymond Haden. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Gideons International.
