Jerome Stanke

JEROME (JERRY) STANKE

Jerome (Jerry) Stanke, 77, passed away on May 12, 2012 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center in Gainesville, M O. He was born on October 18, 1934 in Bevent, Wisconsin, the oldest son of Lawrence and Thereasa (Wroblewski) Stanke.

Jerome was married to Carol M. Wozniak at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Milwaukee, WI on April 28, 1956. He attended Wittenberg High School in Wisconsin and received a degree in welding from the Welding Institute of Milwaukee. Then he graduated from an apprenticeship with Kearney & Trecker of Milwaukee as a Tool & Die Maker. He retired from General Motors of Janesville, WI in 1994 and was a trouble shooter on the assembly line. He received a plaque of outstanding service from the truck line in Janesville, upon retiring.

Jerome enjoyed gardening, planting trees, the woodlands, repairing old machinery and tractors, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Carol of 56 years; also three daughters, Karie (James) Sirwillo of Richfield, WI, Bonnie (Victor) Wierwich of Waukesha, WI and Hollie (Michael) Rashid of Colgate, WI; two grandchildren, David and Caroline Rashid; a brother, Leroy (Margaret) Stanke of Phoenix, AZ; and a sister, Connie (Michael) Cleary of Phoenix, AZ.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Thereasa Stanke; brother Robert, sister Theresa and a younger brother John.
