HELEN RUTH GERDES

Helen Ruth Gerdes, 76, of Wasola, MO passed to heaven on June 22, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. She was born on May 12, 1936 in Montevideo, MN, the daughter of Fred Walter and Dena (Metlerkamp) Larson.

Helen graduated from Maynard High School in Maynard, MN in 1954 and went on to receive her certification as an LPN. She was united in marriage to Fred Gerdes in September of 1958 in Maynard, MN. Helen worked for many years as an LPN. She enjoyed embroidering and gardening very much. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Helen was a Christian and attended the Noble Church in Noble, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. She is survived by her husband, Fred Gerdes; three children Audrey Marczak, Brenda Gerdes and Byron Gerdes; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; three brothers Roger, Jerry and Dale; and two sisters Donna and Annette.

A Graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2012 at the Noble Cemetery in Noble, MO with Pastor David Kapler officiating. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
