ADRON FLOYD HAWKINS
Adron Floyd Hawkins, of Gainesville, MO passed away on February 22, 2011 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, MO at the age of 90 years, 11 months, and 4 days. He was born March 18, 1920 to Glenn and Flo (Pitcock) Hawkins in Brixey, MO. He was a member of the Smith Chapel Church of Christ.
Adron served with the United States Navy in World War II. He then went to work with United Airlines from 1948 to 1982 as a jet airline mechanic working in major airports from coast to coast. Upon retiring, he has lived on the family farm in the Brixey area.
Adron is survived by his brother, Agene Hawkins, of Gainesville, MO; his brother-in-law, Calvin Watson, of Wasola, MO; his niece Marsha Evans and husband Keith of Wasola, MO; great niece Tara McConnaughy of Springfield, MO; and great nephew Travis McConnaughy and fiancé Sarah Silverman of Wasola, MO; and close cousins Colene Rose and Paul Rose of Gainesville, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Flo Hawkins, and a sister, EllaJean Watson.
Funeral services for Adron will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2011 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Vic Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Smith Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday morning from 10 a.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Smith Chapel Cemetery, and can be left at the funeral home.
