Albert Cecil Erickson, Jr. passed to heaven on July 18, 2013 with his wife, Joyce of 50 years by his side, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO.
Albert was born June 27, 1938 in Kansas City, MO to Albert and Anna (Connole) Erickson, Sr.
Albert was a resident of the Ava community for many years. He was a retired truck driver for 30 years from Wilcox Truck Lines in Springfield, MO. He was a Veteran and served with the U.S. Army. On November 24, 1962, Albert and Joyce Ann Brummet were united in marriage in Kansas City, KS and to this union two children were born.
He was a Christian and a member of the Walnut Grove General Baptist Church. He loved life and he never knew a stranger. His passion was fast cars. Albert loved helping his neighbors with cattle, hay, working on equipment or whatever the day brought. He had the ability to always make people laugh. He was loved by all and will be sorely missed.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents.
Albert is survived by his wife, Joyce Erickson, Ava, MO, two children, Greg and wife, Karen Erickson, Chadwick, MO and Sherry Erickson, Columbia, MO, four grandchildren, Aleshia, Carly, Sadie and Evan, one brother, Joe Rambler and one sister, Anne Herrill both of Kansas City area, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Albert will be Monday, July 22, 2013, 1:00 p.m.in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Roberts.
