Alfred A. Hammons, 79 years, passed away on August 8, 2009 at Truman-Lakewood Hospital in Kansas City, MO.
Alfred was born June 19, 1930 in Crossroads, MO in Douglas County to Chester and Nellie (Bloomer) Twitty.
Alfred and Lodene Lafferty were united in marriage on Dec. 4, 1949 at Highlonesome, MO. Alfred was a retired truck driver with the Missouri Highway Dept. He was a Christian.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, George and one sister, Barbara.
Alfred is survived by his wife, Lodene Hammons, Grandview, MO, three children, Lodena Faye Lane, Grandview, MO, Judy K. Harris, Lee Summit, MO and Charles Hammons, Raymore, MO, five grandchildren, Paulette, Brett, Johnny, Amanda and Robert, one great grandchild, Logan, one brother, Ross Hammons, Kansas City, MO, two sisters, Bonnie Collins, Kansas City, MO and Jessie Sheeley, Ozark, MO and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Alfred will be Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Stillings Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 11, 2009 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Joe Lafferty.
