Alice Geneva Rippee, 84 years, 9 months, and 5 days old, passed to heaven on March 4, 2014 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare with her family by her side.
Alice was born May 30, 1929 in Ava, MO to Rufus and Ella (Harris) Walker.
Alice was a lifelong resident of the Ava community. She was a retired Dietary Aid for 17 years at Chastain's Nursing Home (now Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare)in Ava. On June 24, 1950 Alice and Clayton William Rippee "Rip" were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union three daughters were born. Alice was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed shopping and dining out. She liked bluegrass music and going to music shows. Although she had Alzheimers, she never forgot her Clayton and always called him "Dad". Clayton took her everyday to lunch and dinner while she was in Heart of the Ozarks for 19 months.
The family wants to say a special thanks to all the caretakers at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare for taking such good care of Alice.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; Ruby Walker and Lula Dye and three brothers; Clifford, Sammy and Leroy Walker.
Alice is survived by her husband, Clayton Rippee, Ava, MO, three daughters and their spouses; Anita & Terry Bright, Springfield, MO, Cathy Jo Carpenter, Ava, MO, Loretta & James Davis, Highlandville, MO, five grandchildren; Brian Hesterlee, Travis Denney, Mindy Baughman, Jesse Bright and Lindsey Davis, five great grandchildren; Jacob Hesterlee, Madison Denney, Macy Denney, Maddex Denney and Hunter Baughman and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Alice will be Saturday, March 8, 2014, 2:00 p.m. in the Ava Cemetery, Ava, MO. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn.
