ALLEN THARP

Allen Ray Tharp, 73, 1 month, 2 days old, passed away on September 21, 2016 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, AR. Allen was born in Newport, AR on August 19, 1943 to Jewell and Nellie (Mustain) Tharp.

On August 1, 1964 Allen and Shirley "Sue" Honeycutt were united in marriage in Longrun, MO and together they raised two daughters.

Allen was retired and enjoyed hunting, playing cards, spending time with his family and friends, and he especially enjoyed fishing on the lake. He was a very avid fisherman and would drop everything he was doing to take anyone fishing. He was also very active in the Masons.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, and a brother, Phillip Tharp.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sue of the home in Gainesville, MO; two daughters and their families: Teresa Downs and Mike Workman of Ava, MO, Tracey and Todd Race of Orlando, FL; two grandchildren Brittney Downs of Seymour, MO and Derick Downs of Springfield, MO; three step –grandchildren Hudson Race, Maggie Race and Reagan Race of Myrtle Beach, SC; two great granddaughters Nadalee Evans and Jaelynn Yost of Seymour, MO; as well as many nieces, nephews and numerous relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service for Allen will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Dale Roberts officiating, followed by a Masonic Service. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon from 1 p.m. till service time. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
