ALVIN HONEYCUTT
Alvin Honeycutt, 87, of Longrun, MO passed away November 28, 2016 at Baxter Regional Medical Center, Mountain Home, AR. He was born March 19, 1929 in Theodosia, MO, son of Willis Henry and Dora (Pellham) Honeycutt.
Alvin was a veteran who proudly served his country during the Korean War. After his service to his county, Alvin moved to Overland Park, KS in the 1950's for work. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for American Cast Iron Pipe Company. He loved returning to the Ozarks for hunting and fishing trips. After many years on the job, Alvin returned home to Longrun in 1994 to enjoy retirement. He loved his family and spending time visiting with friends. He was a straight forward and to the point kind of guy, but he also loved a good prank. His family and friends have shared many laughs through the years.
Alvin is survived by his children Kevin Honeycutt of Theodosia, MO, Marty Honeycutt of Overland Park, KS, Brian Honeycutt of Kansas City, MO and Cynthia Hull of Springfield, MO; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters Bonnie Hathaway of Pontiac, MO and Versal Terry of Theodosia, MO; and special step daughters Janice Miller, Sue Cuthbertson and Shelly Woodsworth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Stanley Mark Honeycutt; three brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2016 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Doyle Turner officiating. Visitation will be Friday morning from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial with Full Military Honors will be in the Friend Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Friend Cemetery. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
