Alvin Melvin Kimmen, 84, of Gainesville, MO, formerly of Harlan, IA, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his daughter Cassandra's home in Gainesville, MO on May 15, 2025.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Smith-Kimmen and three sons; William Kimmen (Sherri) of FL, Andrew Kimmen (Dawn), of OK, Frank Kimmen of MO, two step-daughters; Cassandra Smith of Gainesville, MO and Kimberly Smith (Travis Wiard) of MO and two step-sons; James Smith of ND and Jerald "DOC" Smith (Anna) of MO, two sisters; Mona Case of Manning, IA, and Bonnie Jacobs of Harlan, IA, and one brother, Larry Kimmen of Dunlap, IA, one sister-in-law, Ellen Kimmen of Hastings, MN and many grandkids, step grandkids, great- grandkids, nieces, nephews and family and friends, he loved them all.
Al was preceded in death by his son Jon Kimmen and his daughter-in-law Sherri Kimmen, his parents; Lawrence and Hilda (Schumacher) Kimmen, brothers Ray, Kenny, and Mike Kimmen and a sister Phyllis (Kimmen) Grote and her husband Bubbles, brothers-in-law Gene Case and Charlie Jacobs, also a sister-in-law Darlene Kimmen.
A memorial service for Al is planned at a later date and will be posted for family and friends prior to the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, Missouri.
