Obituary

Annave Loftis, 85, of Thornfield, MO passed away January 23, 2023 at Gainesville Healthcare Center. She was born October 5, 1937 in Smackout, MO to H. O. and Lena (Johnson) Nance.

Annave was united in marriage to Loyd Leland Loftis and the couple briefly moved to Lawrence, KS for Leland to find work. After a couple years they moved back to Ozark County in 1957 to raise their family. While Leland worked various jobs to support the family, Annave took care of things around the home and their dairy farm, which they operated for many years. She also loved to hunt and fish. Annave was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was always straight spoken and to the point. She was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Annave is survived by one daughter Debra Hogue, and one son Les Loftis and wife Darla all of Thornfield, MO; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother Jack Nance and one sister Barbara Loftis both of Noble, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leland Loftis; one infant son Arthur Wayne Loftis; three brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2023 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, MO with Milan Chisam officiating. Visitation will be Friday afternoon from 1 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Loftis Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Loftis Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
