Anthony Lootens, 71 years, 1 month, 25 days old, passed away on November 7, 2017 at his home with his family by his side.
Anthony was born September 13, 1946 in Moline, Illinois to George Omer and Marjorie Marie (Von Rycke) Lootens. On November 16, 1968 Anthony and Joyce Prine were united in marriage and to this union two children were born.
Anthony was an Army and Navy veteran where he obtained the rank of Captain. After his time in the service, he retired from John Deere in Moline, Illinois after working there for 33 years. He enjoyed collecting coins and guns, and enjoyed studying history. He was an avid reader, and especially enjoyed books about WWII. Anthony enjoyed telling stories of his past, work, and his family. He was outspoken and not afraid to speak his mind, but he also had a big heart and was sincere. He was strict but fair.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. He is survived by his wife Joyce of the home, two children, Wesley Lootens and friend Michelle of Brushyknob, MO, Teralea Crawford and husband David of Tulsa, OK, one sister, Marta Granata of Florida, four grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Lootens will be Monday, November 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Walnut Grove Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 pm to service time. Officiating will be Pastor Donald Potter.
