ARCHIE SISNEY
Archie Sisney, 93, of Gainesville, MO passed away on November 13, 2012 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, AR. He was born on August 19, 1919 in Nottinghill, MO, the son of Joe and Effie (Berry) Sisney.
Archie was a veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. This was something he always took great pride in, right up to his death, any time he came in contact with another veteran, Archie would shake hands and thank them for their service. He delighted when he was given to chance to go to Washington D.C. on June 14, 2011 as part of the Honor Flight Program. He truly enjoyed all the sights and monuments, and loved getting his picture taken with the new friends he met on his trip.
Archie worked for many years as a lumberjack and famer. He worked on the construction of Norfork and Bull Shoals Dams, as well as the Cortiss Dam in Wyoming. He loved to talk about cattle. Archie was a Christian and attended the Mammoth Assembly of God Church. He stated that the most profound lesson in life was: "you need to put God and Jesus Christ before all others". He was a kind and gentle man who would like to be remembered for his belief in God, and the faith and good he could do. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all.
Archie is survived by three children Artie Lee, Katherin Ann and James Archie Sisney; his brothers Glinnie, Homer, Thurman and Orville Sisney; special nephews Junior and Dwayne Sisney; along with several other nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Effie Sisney; one daughter Sharon Lee Clark; three sisters Girtie, Minnie and Dorothy Fae; and one brother Arvis Sisney.
A Graveside Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012 in the Pontiac Cemetery with Bro. Gale Wooten officiating. Full Military Honor team and the Patriot Guard Riders will be present. Memorial contributions may be given to help with funeral costs.
