ARGIE WILLBANKS

Funeral services for Argie (Honeycutt) Willbanks, 90, of Pontiac, MO will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2009, 2:00 p.m. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO with Ron Pinckney officiating. Burial will be in the Price Place Cemetery at Pontiac. Visitation will be held Monday, August 31, 2009 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Argie Willbanks died on August 29, 2009 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was born February 19, 1919 in Theodosia, MO the daughter of Willis and Dora (Pellham) Honeycutt.

She and Lawrence Willbanks were married on July 4, 1936 in Pontiac, MO. Argie became a Christian at an early age and lived her whole life serving the Lord. She was called to preach in 1962 and preached forty years. She wrote a hundred songs and loved to sing them to anyone who would listen. She had her songs in several books of poetry and won many awards. She enjoyed buying the books for her daughter and grandchildren.

Argie loved to fish and hunt and was a fantastic cook and spent most of her adult life cooking in area restaurants.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence on October 6, 1994; her parents; three brothers Stanford, Elva, and Herman; and three sisters Gladys, Helen, and Dorothy.

Mrs. Willbanks is survived by one daughter Nina Blair and husband Bernis of Pontiac, MO; one brother Alvin Honeycutt; two sisters Versal Terry and Bonnie Hathaway; three grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Price Place Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
