Armon D. Stewart, 74 years, 1 month, 23 days old, passed away on May 31, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri with his family by his side.
Armon was born April 8, 1952, in Gainesville, Missouri to Billie DeArmon and Geneva Lee (Herd) Stewart.
He went to grade school at Thornfield, Missouri. Armon graduated from Ava High School in 1970. Armon, while in High School raised a special bull, “Ben” which he showed at the Douglas County Fair and won the Grand Champion. That started his love for agriculture. While in high school he bought and started his Stewart Family Farm.
On January 6, 1979, Armon and Sandy (Hancock) Stewart were united in marriage at Sweden Church and together were blessed with three children, Jennifer, Michael, and Janell.
Armon retired from working at Sanders Rock Products in Ava for over 30 years. In addition he did custom hay and fertilizing services.
He loved John Deere tractors and equipment.
Armon was a Christian and was baptized. He had a love for the Lord.
He loved being Papa Armon to his six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill; brothers, Danny, John, and Larry; and a nephew, Michael Lee Tackett.
Armon is survived by his mother, Geneva Stewart; his wife, Sandy; children and their spouses, Jennifer and Brent Lakey, Michael and Carrie Stewart, and Janell and Josh Embrey; grandchildren, Matthew Lakey, Morgan Lakey, Ben Stewart, Bryce Stewart, Elisha Embrey, and Luke Embrey; sister, Deanna Tackett; numerous nieces; nephews; extended family and many friends.
Funeral services for Armon will be Friday, June 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Ava, Missouri with burial following in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Neal Crum.
