A potluck dinner for Arthur "Art" Brannan, 69, of Gainesville, MO will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at the Lick Creek Volunteer Fire Department on J Hwy near Howards Ridge, MO. All family and friends are invited to attend.
Arthur James Brannan, 69, of Gainesville, MO passed away July 12, 2026 at his home. He was born on July 12, 1957 in Alma, MI.
Arthur was the son of James Clifford Brannan and Donna Eiline Elliott. Arthur married Nancy Brannan on April 23, 1998. Arthur and Nancy are the parents of Bobby Haney, Arthur William Brannan, and Amy Brannan.
Arthur was devoted to his family and friends. He would spend his free time hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time at Cloud 9 Ranch. On most days you would find him at his house with his dog, Buddy.
Arthur served in the Army and worked for 17 years for Ingram Barge where he retired as a senior mate. He was an avid outdoors man and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was also a proud member of the Lick Creek Volunteer Fire Department.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, James and Donna; as well as his brother, John Brannan.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his children: Bobby, Arthur and Amy; his brother, Lester; his mother-in-law, Twila Haney; his niece April; his grandchildren: Gracie, Katie, Wyatt, Nicholas and Ashley; as well as all the neighborhood kids he loved dearly and mentored; and several nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters in-law.
A celebration of life with full military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
