Obituary

Arthur Keigley, Jr.

Arthur Keigley Jr. passed away September 12, 2015 in De Soto, Kansas. Arthur was born September 25, 1923 in Cutler Township, Illinois to Arthur and Emma Jane Keigley. He grew up in several locations around the country, graduating from Perris (Ca.) High School in 1943. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a member of Flag Command Staff in San Diego, Ca.

At the end of WWII, Arthur became a salesman, starting out by selling bibles door-to-door around the country. He sold a number of products and lived in areas like Houston, San Francisco and Miami before settling in New York City where he sold shoes for Macy's in Manhattan for 17 years. Arthur was an avid photographer and ornithologist. He retired in 1978 and remained in NYC until 1989 when he moved to Kansas to be near his sister's family. He was a resident of Santa Fe Towers in Overland Park from 1989 to 2014.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved sister Wilma J. Hogard and nephew Brian. He is survived by his sister, Ruth E. Neely of Stockton, Ca, 6 nephews, 2 nieces, and their families and children. We really appreciate the staff at Hillside Village in De Soto, Kansas for the care and compassion shown to Uncle Art these past 16 months.
