AUDREY ROMA (ROSE) LONG

Audrey Roma (Rose) Long of Springfield, MO passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014 in Springfield, MO. Audrey, formerly of Gainesville, MO was 86 years young. She was born August 14, 1927 to Herbert Rose and Myrtle (Deatherage) Rose near Oakland, AR.

She was united in marriage at age 17 to Nathan Long of Dugginsville, MO on October 14, 1944. Audrey is survived by six of her seven children Herbert Long and wife Becky of Monett, MO, Judy Long of Springfield, MO, Sherrill Oels and husband Doug of Mountain Home, AR, Cathy Carlisle and husband Roy of Gainesville, MO, Becky Madewell and husband Eddie of Mansfield, MO and Nathan Long of Sweeney, TX; and one sister Anna Kate Jarmen of Gassville, AR.

She was preceded in death by her husband Nathan in 1980 and one son Floyd Long in 1992; also preceded in death by four brothers Ronald, Orin, Jerry Rose and Hermas Deatherage.

Audrey was a Christian and attended the Y Church and Mammoth Assembly while she lived in Gainesville. She was a homemaker and worked at Baxter Lab in Mountain Home for sixteen years. She retired and moved to Springfield to live with her daughter in 1988. Audrey loved her five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Bro. Gale Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in the Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday afternoon from 1 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Hart Cemetery or to the Alzheimer's Association.
