AUTTIE RAY PERRY

Auttie Ray Perry passed away, Monday morning April 23, 2007 at his home in Theodosia, Missouri. He was 68 years 2 months, and 25 days old. Auttie was born January 28, 1939 in Craney, Kentucky to Leslie Lee Perry and Laura Ellen (Sargent) Perry. On June 3, 1963 Auttie and Glenda Simmons were married in Mtn. Vernon, Ohio. They made their home in Newport, Michigan until Auttie retired from Ironworkers Local #25 of Detroit, Michigan, after 30 years. At that time Auttie and Glenda moved to Theodosia to enjoy their retirement.
Auttie enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR races and many years of hunting and fishing with his good friends.
He is survived by his wife Glenda of the home in Theodosia, Missouri, daughter Laura Schmekel of Thornfield, Missouri, sons Thomas Perry and wife Tracey of Newport, Michigan, Allen Perry and wife Robin of Newport, Michigan. His pride and joy his 8 grandchildren Steven and Emily Schmekel of Roseville, Michigan, Dustin, Aaron, and Amy Perry of Newport, Michigan, Kari, Koty, and Craig Perry of Newport, Michigan; sisters Zora Perkins and husband Roscoe of Taylor, Michigan, Clasie Moore and husband Vernon of West Liberty, Kentucky, and brother Leon Perry and wife Irma of West Liberty, Kentucky. Auttie also leaves behind many in-laws, nieces, nephews, family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Laura Perry and one grandson Chad Walter Perry, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Friday morning, April 27, 2007 at 11:00 AM , Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville, Missouri with Roy Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Lutie Cemetery.
