Barbara Horner,  81 years, and 19 days old, died peacefully in her sleep on October 30, 2023 at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri.

Barbara was born October 11, 1942 in Oldfield, Missouri to Virgil and Maggie (Chapman) Horner.

She graduated from Ava High School with the class of 1960.  She then attended College of the Ozarks and graduated with an associate's degree in 1962.

She was a Christian and a member of the Unity of the Hills in Branson, Missouri.

She lived her life to the fullest and was a free spirit.

She traveled extensively in her life and moved back to Ava, Missouri in 2000.  She then opened Bookkeeping and More.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Thelma Collier, Dorothy Howerton, and Marie Blackmore; and two brothers, Cleon and Leon.

Barbara is survived by her niece, Janice and Russ Varney; two nephews, Larry and Trina Collier and Randy Locklear; first cousins, Dennis Horner and Terry Horner; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial graveside for Barbara will be Friday, November 10, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. in the Union Grove Cemetery with burial to follow.  Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn. Memorials may be made to Union Grove Cemetery.
