Barbara Jane Scott

Barbara Jane Scott, 71 years, 4 months, and 9 days old, passed to heaven on September 13, 2015 at her home in Wasola, MO with her family by her side.

Barbara was born May 4, 1944 in Lake Hill, NY to Ralph and Lena (Ploss) Shultis. She graduated high school in 1962 in Onteora, NY.

Barbara was employed by Emerson for 20 years. After retiring from there she returned to school at Missouri State University in West Plains and completed her Associates degree in Education. She enjoyed being a teacher's assistant for 9 years before retiring again.

Barbara and Albert "Noel" Scott were united in marriage on January 16, 1993 at the Frontier Baptist Church in Pontiac, MO.

Barbara loved being outdoors, whether it was gardening, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, or working in the yard. The one thing she loved the most was being a "Full-time Grandma" and spending time with her grandkids. She was a Methodist and a member of the Shady Hill United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Kings Daughters Organization.


Barbara was preceded by her parents, Ralph and Lena (Ploss) Shultis; 2 Brothers, Peter Shultis and Paul Shultis; 1 grandson, Brandon Shane Turner.


Barbara is survived by her husband, Albert "Noel" Scott, Wasola, MO; 6 children and spouses, Bonnie and Bob Kuhn, Rochester, NY; Jacquelynn Sue Autry, Rochester, NY; Wanda Jean Mergendahl, Mountain Grove, MO; John and Amber Mergendahl, Rolla, MO; Cherie and Darell Smith, Long View, TX; Joe and Kimberly Scott, Denton, TX; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; her first husband and spouse, John and Lesalie Mergandahl, Wasola, MO; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and a host of friends.


Cremation services for Barbara are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, MO. The family would like to invite all family and friends to a celebration of Barbara's life on Saturday, September 19th, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Barbara's Wasola residence; please bring a lawn chair.
