Barbara Lea Waskosky, 67 years, passed to heaven on July 23, 2009 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, MO.
Barbara was born September 28, 1941 in Springfield, MO to Walter and Ruth (Ridenour) Waskosky. She graduated from Southwest Missouri State College with a B.S. Degree in Education. She also received a Masters Degree of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX.
Barbara was a resident of the Ava community since 2005 moving from Springfield, MO. She retired in 1999 as the Secretary of the Hamlin Baptist Church in Springfield, MO and was also a member there. She worked at the church for 30 years. She was devoted and involved in all the church activities. Barbara loved reading and painting.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her cousins, Charlotte Bock, Ava, MO and family, Myron Bruffett and family, Dwight Bruffet and family, Evelyn Taylor and family, George & Joe Robertson and friends.
Funeral services for Barbara will be Saturday, July 25, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Lutie Cemetery, Theodosia, MO. Visitation will be Saturday, July 25, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Calvin Maberry and Rev. Oren Alcorn.
