Barney Alvin Head, age 65, of Howards Ridge, MO passed away peacefully in the arms of daughter, Kiya Belle Grisham, Wednesday night, October 9, 2019 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO. He was born December 4, 1953 in Gassville, AR son of Bob and Ola Belle Head.

Barney was a 1972 graduate of Gainesville High School and then proceeded into becoming a construction worker where he found himself falling in love with operating a crane and enjoying life on the road. Barney has always been a people person and never met a stranger. He was ornery, funny and always full of life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Barney was an unrealistic and heroic father to Kiya Belle Grisham and her husband Wyatt. Their bond was and will always be something that can't be shook.

Barney was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Ola Belle Head. He is survived by daughter Kiya Belle Grisham and husband Wyatt of Pontiac, MO; brother Bobby Head and wife Donna of Howards Ridge, MO; sister Mary Belle Green and husband Winfred of Mountain Home, AR; his dog Skillet; and several nieces and nephews.

For us, Barney left a legacy of being a father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a gifted story-teller and even more gifted at making stories to tell. He was truly one of a kind and words can't explain how much he will be missed.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Jimmy Kyle officiating. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Howards Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Howards Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
