BEAULAH FERN MASHBURN

Beaulah Mashburn, 92, of Theodosia, MO passed away on October 4, 2014 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center. She was born on May 10, 1922 in rural Ozark County, MO, the daughter of Callie and Myrtle (Brown) Mahan.

Beaulah was a life-long resident of Ozark County. She worked for many years at the Shirt Factory in Gassville, AR and later worked for several different restaurants in the Theodosia area. She loved gardening and raising flowers, especially her roses and irises. She enjoyed tending to cattle and working around the farm and she was always ready to help anyone in need. Beaulah was a terrific cook. She loved to make chocolate and fried pies, and in the fall her specialty was sweet potato pie. She was the true definition of a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Beaulah is survived by one sister Jean Hillhouse and one brother Bill Mahan. Other survivors include her grandchildren Darrin Clayton and wife Cecilia, Shelly Clayton and Shanna Clayton; her daughter-in-law Donna Clayton of Theodosia, MO; great grandchildren Cally, Kyle and wife Darian, Ashley and husband Justin, Shelby, Laurence, Justin and wife Kim, Nathan and wife Shelly and Louis; and great-great grandchildren Devon, Dustin, Logan, Rylee, Maddie, Nevaeh and Audrey; five nephews and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents Callie and Myrtle Mahan; two husbands Hillis Clayton and Tilford Mashburn; two sons H.D. Clayton and his wife Arlene and Harlin Clayton; one sister Aline Clayton and one grandson Dennie Clayton.

Funeral services for Beaulah will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, MO with Jim Hillhouse officiating. Burial will be in the Lutie Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon from 1 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to: Lutie Cemetery, Hicks Cemetery or Smith Graham Cemetery and can be left at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
