Benny F. Pool, the son of George W. Pool and Maggie L. Hicks Pool was born May 7, 1937 in Drury, Missouri and departed this life Aug. 4, 2008 in his home at the age 71 years 2 months and 27 days.

April 4, 1989 Benny Pool and Twyla (Adams) Bunnell were united in marriage in Davenport, IA. He was employed as a warehouseman with the John Deere Company for 30 years. Benny was a Veteran and served his country with the U.S. Army. For the past 15 years he was a resident of Ava, MO and played with Booger County Bluegrass until his health failed.

Benny was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Glen and Buck, two sisters, Hazel Bushong and Irene Strong, four nephews and two nieces. He is survived by his wife, Twyla, of the home in Ava, MO, three stepchildren and there spouses, Ronda and Brian Harvey, Rick and Cara Bunnell, Rod and Kerrie Bunnell, all of Iowa, 10 grandchildren, one brother, Gene and Rheba Pool, Ava, MO, four sisters, Midge Berry, Gainesville, MO, Veda Bushong, Ava, MO, Juanita Kazenske, Silvis, IL, Jo and John Stephens, Ava, MO, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, Aug. 8, 2008 at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with the Rev. Dennis Shumate officiating. Interment will follow in the Eaton Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, 6 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Military service will be by the American Legion Post 112 and VFW 5993. Memorials may be made to the Eaton Cemetery, the American Cancer Society or the Community Hospice.
