Bernice Wade

Ava, MO

Bernice Wade, 96 years, passed to heaven on December 8, 2013 at her home with her family by her side.

Bernice was born February 14, 1917 in Lutie, Mo in Ozark County to Jess and Martha (Beaver) Miller.

Bernice was a Homemaker and a resident of the Ava community for many years.

In 1938 Bernice and Henry Jilek were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union three children were born. He preceded in death. Later she married Ray Wade in 1960 and he also preceded.

Bernice was a Christian and a member of the Walnut Grove Church.
Bernice enjoyed working in her flower garden and always keeping busy. Her joy was her family and grandchildren.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Henry Jilek and Ray Wade, three brothers; Walter, Elmer and Henry Miller, two sisters; Pearl Brathen and Helen Holmer.

Bernice is survived by three children; Onea Fry, St. Joseph, MO, Lonnie Jilek, Ozark, MO and Geneva Hogan, Moore, OK,
nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one sister, Geneva O'Brien, state of IL; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Bernice will be Thursday, Dec. 12th, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Roberts.
