BETTY LOU GARFIT

Betty Lou Garfit, 77, of Isabella, MO passed away June 24, 2016 at her residence. She was born December 14, 1938 in Gainesville, MO the daughter of Efton and Juanita (Murrill) Friend.

Betty was a lifetime resident of Ozark County. She worked at Baxter Lab in Mtn. Home for 27 years. She enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, working outside, cooking and canning. She married Doyle Garfit on November 17, 1958. They spent 50 plus years together until his passing in 2009. Their life revolved around her daughter, Shirley, and her favorite person, Ronnie, and her grandsons and great grandsons. Sundays always meant a big dinner at mom's. After Doyle passed away, Heath bought her a dog for Easter and she became mom's little sissy. She loved her dearly. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Betty was a Christian and member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughter Shirley Garrison and husband Ronnie of Isabella, MO; two grandsons Shawn Garrison and wife Jenni of Isabella, Heath Garrison and partner Matt of Branson, MO; two great grandsons Ryan and Tyler Garrison of Isabella; and special friend Dick Blanton. Other survivors include her siblings, George Friend and wife Sue of Springdale, AR, Nettie Sue Friend and Rebecca Friend of Gainesville, MO, Charles Friend of Willard, MO and Wilma Pendergrass of Cabool, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doyle Garfit; and five siblings: Eva June Friend, Lawrence Friend, Mary Bates, Benny Friend and O.J. Friend.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Jimmy Kyle officiating. Burial will be in the Isabella Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening, June 27th from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
