Betty Joyce Getman

Betty Joyce (Foster) Getman, 87 years, 9 months, and 27 days old, passed away on December 30, 2024, at Heart of the Ozarks.

Betty was born March 3, 1937 in Leslie, Arkansas to Dan Foster and Velma (Smith) Foster.

Betty's mother, Velma, passed away in 1944.  Betty's father remarried to Eva (Rogers) Foster, who became Betty's mother in her heart.  Betty grew up knowing hard work and family responsibility.  She grew and canned vegetables for home and for others in need at times.  Betty also raised and tended chickens to help provide family income as a young girl.

Betty Foster married Fred Getman on August 5, 1955.  Betty birthed 11 children, 5 of whom died at birth, and 6 children survived into adulthood.

Betty worked hard for very little pay, every day until well into her 70's.

Betty joined her husband and other loved ones.

Betty is survived by her son, Otis and wife Christina Getman.

Cremation services for Betty are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Ava.
