Betty Joan Marrs, 77 years, 7 months, and 11 days old, passed to heaven on December 6, 2015 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, MO.

Betty Joan was born April 26, 1938 in Longrun, MO to William Howard and Dorothy Jane (Jenkins) Robertson . She graduated from Bradleyville High School in 1956.

Joan was a retired Bank Teller. Betty and David Marrs were united in marriage in 1983 in Padre Island, Tx.

Joan enjoyed cooking and watching animals, and had feeders on her porch which she liked to watch. She also enjoyed shopping at garage sales and thrift stores.

Joan was preceded by her parents and a daughter, Veneca Page.

Joan is survived by her husband, David Marrs, Ava, MO, one daughter, Venita Tilley, Chadwick, MO, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one brother, Wendell Rex Robertson and wife Venita, Thornfield, MO, three sisters, Sharon Lyons, Theodosia, MO, Marilyn Wallace and husband Jim of Isabella, MO, and Jan Robertson, Nixa, MO, as well as many other family and friends.


Funeral services for Betty Joan will be Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Dale Roberts. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
