BETTY JEAN MCCLEAN
Betty Jean McClean, 83, of Theodosia, MO passed away on February 11, 2016 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center.
She was born May 30, 1932 in Grand Island, NE, the daughter of Ned and Eva (George) King. Betty spent much of her adult life in and around Denver, CO, first working for Rockybuilt, and then later owning the Pine Junction Grocery and Café where she was famous for her homemade pies. She was a bookkeeper for Walgreens for fifteen years in Houston, TX, Chicago, IL and Denver, CO. She retired at age 75, leaving the big city life, moving to Theodosia to be closer to nature. A member and past officer of the Loyal Order of the Moose, she loved to play Bingo, and she was an avid Denver Broncos fan.
She is survived by two daughters: Vickie Wilhelm and husband Robin of Theodosia, MO, Lauraine Quintana and husband Dave of Denver, CO, one son Randy McClean and wife Louise of Clermont, FL; one sister Devona (Bonnie) Schroeder of Columbus, NE; and grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers Floyd King, William King, Jack King and four sisters Edna King, Eunice Larkin, Arlene Hatheway and Helen Supan.
No local services are planned. Interment will be in the Grand Island Cemetery, Grand Island, NE at a later date. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
