Betty Morrison

Ava, MO

Betty Morrison, 75 years, passed to heaven on May 23, 2010 in her home with her family by her side.

Betty was born March 18, 1935 in Chadwick, MO. Betty was a resident of Ava most of her life. On May 29, 1953 Betty and J D Morrison were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union two daughters were born.

Betty was saved at age 15 at Victory Baptist Church near Ozark, MO. She was a faithful and loving member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Ava, MO. Betty was head of the hospitality program at the church for many years and she worked in the church nursery for several years. Betty was a member of the Ava Lions Club and worked diligently with her husband for many years to help the community.

She enjoyed gardening, St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, Missouri State Bears Basketball and traveling. Her joy was being with her family and friends.


Betty is survived by her husband, J D Morrison, Ava, MO, two daughters, Connie Joy Gideon, Sparta, MO and Jemi Lynne & husband, Marvin Dixon, St. Louis, MO, three grandchildren, Jessica Basham, Cale Berry and Haylee Berry, five step grandchildren, Janice Richison, Donna Riddlesperger, Ashley Dixon, Joshua Dixon and Caleb Dixon, six great grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Betty will be Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Hall Cemetery on T Highway @ Mound. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 25, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Oren Alcorn and Rev. Nolan Carrier. Memorials may be made to Hall Cemetery or Gideon's International.
