Betty Jo Riley, 78, passed to heaven on February 7, 2011 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, MO.
Betty Jo was born January 31, 1933 in Wasola, MO to James and Hattie (Frye) McDaniel.
On November 25 1950 Betty Jo and Robert Riley were united in marriage in Mtn. Home, AR and to this union four children were born. Betty Jo was a Christian and of the Baptist Faith.
In her early years she worked as a Nurses Aid at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, MO and also at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Betty Jo and Robert retired to a farm on the lake at Clinton, MO where they enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards and having fun with their dog, Twister. She loved being with all her grandchildren, family and friends.
Betty Jo was preceded by her parents, an infant daughter, her husband, Robert in 2006, her granddaughter, Melinda "Mindy" Ryles in 2007, five brothers, Roy, Ray, Bobby, Garman and Andy McDaniel and two sisters, Gerry Lawson and Ruth Hunter.
Betty Jo is survived by four children and their spouses, Linda & Rayford Welch, Ava, MO, Vicki & Terry Ryles, Clinton, MO, Russell & Cynthia Riley, Cleveland, MO and Tammie & Jeff Williams, Clinton, MO, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother, Frank McDaniel, Gainesville, MO, four sisters, Hester Tidwell and Lavonna Twitty, both of Wasola, MO, Wasene Solomon, Ava, MO and Polly Boyd, Oldfield, MO, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Betty Jo will be Friday, February 11, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 10, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Roger House. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association.
