Betty Sue Conrad Smith

April 15, 1949- February 27, 2016

Betty Smith, 66, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 27, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Through the many months of her illness she never complained, and if you asked her how she stayed so strong, she would say "I put my trust in the Lord." Her strength was an inspiration to all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

Betty was born April 15, 1949, in Romance, MO. She was one of six children born to Glennie and Esther (Graham) Conrad.

She was united in marriage to Bill Waggoner and this union was blessed with 3 children.

In 1990 she was married to Billy Ray Smith. The couple shared 12 happy years until the passing of Billy in 2002.

Betty enjoyed reading and doing anything outdoors: gardening, camping and especially fishing.

She is survived by her 3 children: Mike Waggoner and wife Paula of Ava, MO; Trish Waggoner Loveland and husband Bobby, Sparta, MO; and Keith Waggoner, Sparta MO.

12 grandchildren: Teresa Harmon, Ryan Caughman, Brooke Nelson, Brett Waggoner, Jessica Fox, Josh Loveland, Jake Loveland, Levi Hurd, Seth Hurd, Jesse Waggoner, Emily Waggoner, and Sarah Waggoner; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Hamilton of Willard, MO; 2 brothers, Bruce and wife Sandy Conrad of Fordland, MO and Burl Conrad of Wasola, MO; 2 sister- in-laws, Mary Conrad of Wasola, MO and Betsy Conrad of Ava, MO; several nieces and nephews, and a many other beloved relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, and two brothers, Bill Conrad of Wasola, MO, and Boyd Conrad of Ava, MO.
Cremation will be under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home of Ava. A memorial graveside service will be held by the family at a later date.
