Betty Ann Tate, 79 years, passed away on March 7, 2010 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, MO.

Betty was born January 29, 1931 in Souder, MO to Etzel Souder and Frances Walker Souder.

Betty was a resident of Ava for many years moving from Ozark County. She worked for Rockbridge Trout Ranch for several years, Red Dot Farms near Brixey and Chastain's Nursing Home in Ava for a few years. Betty was a hard worker all of her life. She was a member of the Souder Church of Christ. Betty enjoyed cooking and loved visiting with friends and family. She was a caretaker to many.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Etzel and Frances Walker Souder, two sons, Mike and Bill Tate, two brothers, JR and Max Souder.

Betty is survived by five children, Herman & wife, GlendaTate, Diamond, MO, Joe Tate, Warsaw, MO, Rick & wife, Treva Tate, Randy & wife, Kathy Tate and Ralph & wife, Katrina Overcast all of Ava, MO, a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren, one brother, Bill Souder, Rogersville, MO, one uncle, Lawrence Souder, Ava, MO, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Betty will be Thursday, March 11, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial of cremains in the Souder Cemetery at a later date and time. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 10th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor E.J. Hampton. Memorials may be made to American Stroke Association.
