BEULAH MYERS
Beulah (deKock) Myers passed away on February 15, 2016 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, AR. She was 76 years of age.
Beulah was born December 25, 1939 in Pretoria, South Africa to Paul and Maria Susanna deKock, and was raised on the family farm in the Transvaal province. Beulah worked as a typist for the Republic of South Africa between 1957 and 1968. While working in Cape Town, she met Donald Myers who was stationed there while serving in the United States Navy. The couple was married July 22, 1970 in Ava, MO. After living in Hawaii and New Orleans, the couple retired from the Navy to Ocie, MO where they raised their sons, Jon and Patrick. Beulah worked for many years in various roles, including aide, secretary, and bookkeeper, at Lutie School in Theodosia, MO until her retirement in 2003. In 2006, she relocated to Mountain Home, AR. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, who called her Ouma which is Grandmother in Afrikaans. Beulah was talented in crocheting, and created many beautiful items, which her family will always treasure.
Beulah was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Maria Susanna deKock, her brother Leon deKock, her sister Eunice Clancy, and her husband Donald Myers.
Beulah is survived by her son Jon, daughter-in-law Julie, and grandchildren Emma, Faith, Aidan, Kathryn, and Sophia Myers; and her son Patrick, daughter-in-law Miranda, and grandchildren Brady, Kyden, and Makelby Myers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Theodosia, MO with Bro. Gale Wooten officiating. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Lutie Cemetery. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
