Beulah Verlane Richard, 78 years, 9 months, and 4 days old, passed away on the 13 ^th of February, 2021 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare in Ava, Missouri.

Verlane was born on the 9 ^th of May in 1942 in Arkansas to Lorrine (Ehrhardt) Hurley.

Verlane worked as a shoemaker at Brown Shoe in Caruthersville, Missouri for many years. Additonally, she worked in home healthcare in Doniphan, Missouri.

Verlane and her husband, Leon Richard, were united in marriage in 2001 in Oxly, Missouri.

Verlane enjoyed plain ol' country livin'. She took pleasure in gardening and canning the fresh foods. She relished in feeding the deer and the turkeys, as well as watching them come up to her door to eat. Verlane also had a fondeness for fishing and spending time with friends within the community.

Verlane was preceded in death by her mother, Lorrine, her first husband, Jack Darnell, her four siblings, Kathleen James, Janie Stout, Curtis Gooch, and David Gooch, in addition to her daughter Winda Storey, Winda's husband Gary, and their two sons, Gene and Christopher.

Verlane is survived by her second husband, Leon, her other four children, Lesia Adcock, Mary James, Trudy Edwards, and Jeff Darnell, her grandchildren, and her sister, Brenda Leroux, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Cremation services for Verlane are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, Missouri.
