Bill Ray Fanning
Ava, Missouri
Bill Ray Fanning, 82 years, 9 months, 19 days old, passed away June 1, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, with his family by his side.
Bill was born August 12, 1943, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Bill and Mary Charlotte (Gibson) Fanning. He grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and graduated from High School.
Bill was a retired tool and die maintenance supervisor from York Manufacturing (Coleman). He worked there for over 40 years. Bill really never did retire. He was always working on something.
Bill met the love of his life while participating in bowling leagues and competitions. On April 11, 1970, Bill and Glenda Norris were united in marriage in Witchita, Kansas. Together they had four children.
Bill enjoyed archery and was involved in contests and won numerous trophies. He also liked shooting black powder rifles, hunting, and fishing.
Bill had a quiet faith. He was a proud man who loved and adored his children and grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Glenda; his brother, Steve Fanning and sister, Pat Fanning; his grandson, Josh Bradshaw; granddaughter, Kristy Bradshaw, and son-in-law, Jeff Bradshaw.
Bill is survived by his children and their spouses, Lianne Bradshaw, Becky and Kyle Lumley, Billy Fanning, Jr., Mike Fanning, and Darrin Fanning; his grandchildren, Joe Bradshaw, Jamie Marler, Chris Bradshaw, Heidi Kelly, R.A. Bradshaw, Nikki Woods, Miranda Schroeder, Vince Lumley and Tiffany Lumley; several great granchildren and great great grandchildren; extended family and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 4th from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Missouri. Graveside services for Bill will be Friday, June 5, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at Oak Grove Cemetery, Norwood, Missouri (E Hwy).
