Billie Jean Taber, 79 years, 6 months, and 17 days old, passed to heaven on October 4, 2014 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, MO with her family by her side.
Billie was born March 17, 1935 in Ava, MO to Chalmer and Floy (Frazier) Privett. She graduated from Heppner High School in Heppner, Oregon. She also attended two years of college at Eastern Oregon Community College, Lagrande, OR. Billie lived most of her life in the Ava community.
On September 10, 1956, Billie and Leon Taber were united in marriage and to this union four children were born.
Billie worked as a Sales Clerk at Ava Wal Mart for several years. She also was the best Homemaker!
She was a Christian and a member of the Walnut Grove General Baptist Church in Ava and the Ava American Legion Auxillary Unit #112.
She enjoyed volunteering, sewing, bowling, and most of all taking care of all her grand and great grandchildren.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Joe Privett.
Billie is survived by her husband, Leon Taber, Ava, MO, four children, Jo Ellen "Jodi" Ingino, Ava, MO, Brenda Rear and husband, Bill, Springfield, MO, Keith Taber and wife, Karen, Bloomington, IL and Cindy Bradshaw and husband, Ted , Norwood, MO, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one sister, June Brown, Newport, OR, one brother, John Privett, Umatilla, OR, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Billie will be Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Bragg Cemetery on K Highway just west of Ava. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Roberts.
