Billy Joe Solomon, 71 years, 7 months, and 4 days old, passed away on June 1, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO.

Billy Joe was born October 28, 1944 in Douglas County, MO to William Marshal and Opal Modena (Prine) Solomon.

Billy was a retired truck driver. Billy was a Christian. Billy enjoyed hunting, fishing and even football with the grandkids. He enjoyed watching western movies and most of all being with his family.

Billy Joe was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Dane Solomon, one sister, Suzy Solomon and one brother, Mack Johnson.

Billy Joe is survived by four children; Dean Current, Denver, CO, Marty Solomon,and wife Marla, Ava, MO,Tina Grooms and husband, Ray, Ava, MO, and Kris Swindell, five grandchildren; Kelsea Rush, Mason Solomon, Megan Current, Hollie Current and Amanda Current, six siblings; Elba Solomon, Eddie Johnson, Gerti Willis, Wilma Potts, Wilber Johnson and Violet Richards, and other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Billy Joe will be Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Cremation will follow services per Billy`s request. Burial of ashes will be at a later date and time in the Sweden Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Buddy Boyd and Pastor Ron Wallace. Memorials may be made to Sweden Cemetery.
