Blaine Heard

Blaine Heard the son of James Heard and Maude Anderson Heard was born Jan. 25, 1918 in Cold Springs, Missouri and departed this life July 10, 2007 at the age of 89 years 5 months and 15 days.

Blaine was a resident of Norwood, Missouri for most of his life. He was employed as a truck driver before his retirement. Blaine and Gertrude Irene Harvey were united in marriage on Feb. 11, 1937 in Evans, MO.

Blaine was a member of the Brushy Knob Church and was a deacon for 57 years. Blaine loved fishing and watching Cardinal Baseball. He loved spending time with his family.

Blaine was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gertrude, three sisters, four brothers, one son, Bernard and one infant daughter. He is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Donna Smith and Jerry, Rogersville, MO, Sherry Huff and Randy, Sparta, MO, five grandchildren, Debra Heard, Rene` McClure, Greg Heard, Dewayne Huff and Christi Dockum, eight great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, two sisters, Lizetta Roy, Harrisonville, MO, Wava Kelley, Norwood, MO, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Blaine will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 13, 2007 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with the Rev. Oscar Cunningham officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until service time. Interment will follow in the Brushy Knob Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Brushy Knob Cemetery.
