Blanch M. Sukow passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She was born September 30, 1926 in Ozark County, Missouri, the daughter of Sigel and Carrie (Newton) Smith. She married Fent E. Sukow of West Plains, Missouri on April 1, 1950.
Having lived in the Kansas City area, the family returned to West Plains, Missouri and finally in Springfield, Missouri in the 1980's. Blanch was a homemaker for her family and did many things in their home building business with Fent.
Blanch enjoyed making quilts, raising iris in her backyard flower bed, and dancing. She and Fent spent many winters in the sun in Florida and South Texas walking on the beaches, adding to their sea shell collection, and dancing.
Blanch is survived by her husband, Fent of 65 years, her son Bruce Sukow and wife Ginger Sukow of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, two granddaughters Jill of Rolla, Missouri and Ashley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, three great grandchildren, three brothers and five sisters; Mike Smith of Gainesville, Floyd Smith of Ava, Frank Smith of Independence, Missouri, Bonnie Luna of Gainesville, Norine Loftis of Waynesville, Nancy Kelley of Dora, Bernice Zeigler of Wichita, Kansas and Rosell Howard of Belton, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers and one sister; Joe Smith, Obie Smith, Vilas
Smith, and David Smith, and Floy Tucker.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Sukow will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Smith Chapel Church with Pastor Larry Cockman officiating. Visitation with family will be at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville on Friday, March 20, 2015 with the family present from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
