Obituary

Funeral services for Bobbie Joe Sullivan, 82, Gainesville, will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017, with visitation at noon, and services at 1:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Gainesville.

He died June 8, 2017 in Baxter Regional Medical Center, Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Bob was born September 15, 1934, in Gainesville, the son of Albert L & Marvenia Arlena Sullivan.
Bob attended the Center Point one-room school house in Gainesville through the eighth grade.

On January 31, 1953, Bob married Darlene Mae Todd in Yellville, AR. They lived their entire married life in Gainesville. Bob's work included farm hand, radio performer (where Darlene heard him for the first time as a teenager), Wallace Sale Barn, Ozark County Deputy Sheriff, forest ranger, Ozark County Coroner and Ambulance Supervisor, Mayor of Gainesville, and Auctioneer.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and farming, and was known for selling and trading everything from coon dogs, guns, and automobiles, to tractors and lawnmowers. He loved singing and playing guitar for family and friends and looked forward to Hootin an Hollarin every year where he often performed on stage with his brothers, Don and Bront. He loved his kids and grandkids, especially singing, telling stories and jokes, playing pranks, and making funny faces. But the thing Bob liked the most was Darlene's home cooking.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene, of the home, six children: Ron Sullivan and wife Rita of Magnolia, TX, Charlotte Sullivan-Wood and Brenda Sullivan-Forch of Elkland, MO, Lisa Sullivan, Rocky Sullivan and wife Kim, and Darla Sullivan, all of Gainesville, over 50 grand-children, great grand-children and great-great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Don Sullivan and Bront Sullivan, and sisters Purna Asplund, Faye Newman, Erma Rose, and Leta Reynolds-Martin.

Burial will be in Lutie Cemetery, Theodosia, MO, with memorial contributions made to Lutie Cemetery.
