Bobby Dale Comstock, 63, of Protem, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016, at his home on Big Creek.


Services for Bobby will be held Wednesday, June 22 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville, Missouri with visitation at 5:00 pm and the funeral at 6:00. Memorials may be made to the Tackle the Storm Foundation, which provides fishing equipment to children affected by tornados and other storms.


Bobby was born May 12, 1953, in Mountain Home, Arkansas to Bobby Ray and Henrietta Joyce (Sanders) Comstock. He graduated from Viola High School in 1971. On May 1st, 1981, he married Dana Lee Henson in Protem, MO. Bobby was employed as an equipment operator at Taney County Road and Bridge for 21 years. He enjoyed working and retired in 2011 to fish, farm, and "Papa" full time. He was an avid fisherman and was on both the Mercury and Basscat promotional staff. He spent endless hours on Big Creek, Bull Shoals, and numerous other lakes "Barefoot fishin." Bobby loved fishing tournaments for the competition and the camaraderie and developed many lifelong friendships with fellow anglers. He loved his family, his farm, and being a Dad and Papa the most.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dana; his two sons, Heath Daniel Comstock and his wife Jennifer of San Angelo, Texas; Dakota "Buck" Comstock and his wife Amber of Protem, Missouri; and a daughter Ashley Dale Comstock of Gainesville, MO; five grandchildren, Chasity, Makayla, Harmon, and Hayden Johns of Gainesville, MO; and soon to arrive Baby "Thunder" Comstock (named by Papa Bob) of San Angelo, Texas; his sister Kim Comstock of Viola; and two brothers, Steve Comstock and his wife Anita of Clarkridge, Arkansas; and David Comstock of Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Henrietta Comstock, and his sister Kathy Hinman.
