Bonnie Marie Smith Luna, 95, of Gainesville, MO passed away June 23, 2025 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava, MO. She was the daughter of Sigel and Carrie (Newton) Smith. Bonnie was born and raised in Ozark County and lived her whole life there.

Bonnie was one of 14 kids. In 1948, she married Delbert Luna, an only child. No one in Bonnie's family seemed to notice there was an extra person around. Delbert fit right in and was treated as another brother.

Delbert and Bonnie had three daughters: Carolyn, Marilyn and Shorty.

Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Sue Cockman and Larry, Marilyn Tilley, and Shirley "Shorty" Sinor and Delbert; 5 siblings: Floyd Smith, Frank Smith, Nancy Kelley, Bernice Zigler, and Mike Smith; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded by death by her husband; her parents; one granddaughter; 2 great grandchildren; and 8 siblings: Norine Loftis, Blanche Sukow, Joe Smith, Obie Smith, Vilas Smith, Floy Tucker, David Smith, and Roselle Howard.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2025 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO. Visitation will be Friday afternoon from 1 p.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Ball Cemetery near Dora, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
