Norvil Boyd Lakey

Norvil Boyd Lakey, 84 years, 2 months, and 20 days old, passed away on October 24, 2022 from an auto accident in Wright County, Mansfield, MO.

Boyd was born August 4, 1938 in Vera Cruz, Missouri to Everett and Alta Ellen (Burdan) Lakey.

He enjoyed messing with old cars.  He liked laying rocks for fire places and rock walls. Boyd  built his last house by hand and was currently building a house now.

On October 26, 2007, Boyd and Pat Renegar were united in marriage.

Boyd was a farmer for many years.  He used to own and operate a dairy farm.  Later he raised beef cattle.  He also worked a logger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pat in September 2022; his sister, Gaytha Watterson; and brother J.T. Lakey.

Boyd is survived by his children, Tom and Pat Lakey, Connie Meredith, Rene Fleming, Everett and Stephanie Lakey, Theresa and Chris Beeler, Ada Lakey, and Alicia Ellen Weyrauch; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; his sisters, Lula Dyer, Norma Cornelison and Regina Evans; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Boyd will be Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 2:00 P.M.   in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc., Ava, Missouri. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 P.M. to service time.  Burial will be in the Denlow Cemetery in Eastern Douglas County.  Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn. Memorials may be made to the Denlow Cemetery. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc., Ava, Missouri.
