Carl Edward Calhoun, 70 years, 4 months, and 4 days old, passed to Heaven on May 21, 2015 at his home from a sudden illness.
Carl was born January 17, 1945 in Mansfield, MO to Clinton and Martha Jane (Eaton) Calhoun. He graduated from Mansfield High School.
On June 29, 1968 Carl and Carolyn Bristol were united in marriage in Ava, MO and blessed with three daughters.
Carl was retired owner and operator of Rapid Lube & Tire in Ava. He started the business in 1993 and had recently retired. Carl also was a foundry manager for Reyco Industries in Springfield, MO.
Carl was a man of faith. He enjoyed traveling with Carolyn and got to see every state but two and also enjoyed traveling to Tunica, MS. His other hobbies were fishing, caretaking his cattle, old cars, reading and napping. He and Carolyn loved spending time and taking care of their grandchildren; they were his joy!
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bill and Bob Calhoun, and a granddaughter, Isabella Albritton.
Carl is survived by his wife, Carolyn Calhoun, of the home, three daughters and their spouses, Melissa Moore, Victoria, TX, Christy & Brian Albritton, Ava, MO and Cindy & Steve Howard, Dora, MO, 12 grandchildren; Tiffany, Ashley, William, Austin, Monte, Andy, Azlynn, Travis, Makena, Kenley, Carson and Ford, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Carl will be Monday, May 25, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with cremation following per Carl's wishes. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor James Hathcock. Memorials may be made to the family as a Love offering.
