CARL LEWIS CHARLEVILLE
Carl Lewis Charleville, 83, of Pontiac, MO, passed to heaven on March 20, 2012 at the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, AR. He was born on March 9, 1929 in Brickeys, MO the son of Walter Joseph and Sadah Marie (Youngblood) Charleville.
Carl graduated from Festus High School in Festus, MO class of 1947. After graduation, he went to work for Pittsburg Plate Glass in Crystal City, MO. He was united in marriage to Joanna Cash on February 3, 1951 Bonne Terre, MO. This year they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Carl was drafted into the United States Army, where he served during the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge from the military, he returned to Festus where he worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad, Nash Engineering, and a few other various jobs before moving to the Bull Shoals Lake area in Southern Missouri. He has been a resident of Pontiac, MO for the past 29 years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing the lake. He was a bench marksman and enjoyed meeting with his local Gun Club. Carl was a member of the St. Williams Catholic Church in Gainesville, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Sadah Charleville. He is survived by his wife, Joanna of the home in Pontiac, MO; eight children Roger Charleville and wife Becky of DeSoto, MO, Carla Tuokko and husband Ed of Ontario, Canada, Kevin Charleville of Ballwin, MO, Carol Gill and husband Bill of Bull Shoals, AR, Karen Crabtree and husband Ronald of Gainesville, MO, Craig Charleville and wife Jill of Festus, MO, Kelly Cantrell and husband Kenny of Iron Mountain, MO and Christy Nickolaus and husband Dan of Columbia, MO; 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; one brother Ralph Charleville and wife Mary of Pontiac, MO; and several extended family members and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the St. Williams Catholic Church in Gainesville, MO with Father Paul Wightman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House; 774 Long St.; Mountain Home, AR 72653.
