Carl Hensley Curry, 93 years, passed away on March 26, 2018 at Heart of the Ozarks in Ava, MO with his family by his side.
Carl was born June 2, 1924 in Vinita, OK to Harry Nelson and Viva Ruth (Cooper) Curry.
On May 10, 1941 Carl and June Adams were united in marriage in Sidney, NE and were blessed with three children. Carl was a U.S. Navy World War II Veteran.
Carl was a Christian. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Carl and June farmed for a long time on AK highway on Dogwood Hill. After farming, they were independent truckers hauling produce. They were owner operators, and they drove the 18 wheeler as a team.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, June, and one sister, Nadine.
He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Carol and Perry Heckle of Liberal, KS, Carlene & Bob Jackson of Ava, MO, and Gary & Carol Curry of Longmont, CO, eight grandchildren, Van, Kelli, David, C.C., Teresa, Carl Gene, Lisa, and Steve, numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Carl will be Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Goodhope Cemetery with full military honors by the Troy Herd American Legion Post #112 and U.S. Navy. Officiating will be Rev. Bob Huskey. Memorials can be made to the Troy Herd American Legion Post #112, P.O. Box 236, Ava, MO 65608. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.Visits: 0
