Obituary

CARLA JOYCE JENKINS

Carla Joyce Jenkins, 62, of Gainesville, MO passed away on January 28, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born to Frank and Marilyn (Sexton) Harrolle on June 20, 1951 in Rochelle, IL.

Carla was married to Paul Edward Jenkins in Genoa, IL in 1969 where they lived for many years and raised their two children. She spent many years as a stay at home mom. Carla loved to cook and bake and spent many years bowling and playing golf. In 1998 they moved to Gainesville after Paul's retirement. In 2004 she opened Carla's Café. She made many friends and loved to joke with all the customers and see them smile! Sometimes she came across as a T-Rex on the outside, but had a heart of gold! Carla loved to spend time at the lake with her family and friends swimming, fishing, and boating. She loved taking care of her grandchildren which were her pride and joy. Throughout their lives, "Memaw" was their rock, and through her battle with cancer, she said they became her rock.

Carla is survived by her husband Paul Jenkins of the home; one son Jeffrey Paul Jenkins of Rockford, IL; one daughter Nicole Morgan and husband Brian of Gainesville, MO; three sweet grandchildren Garrett, Katelyn and Tyler Morgan. Carla is also survived by two brothers Dick Harrolle and wife Sally, Dan Harrolle; and one sister Ruth Ann Devine and husband Ed; two very dear uncles, Ernie Sexton and wife Evelyn, and Richard Harrolle and wife Florene, and many wonderful nieces and nephews; and two very special sisters-in-law Deb and Ann!

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, MO with Dale Roberts and Ron Pinckney officiating. Burial will be private in the Price Place Cemetery at a later date. The family asks that memorial contributions be made in Carla's memory to Hospice Compassus or the Price Place Cemetery.
